A superb pencil on paper, Afrika korps tank commander portrait by Hans Volkmar. Hans Volkmar (1919 – 1987) was a world war two newspaper cartoonist and illustrator for the frontline newspaper Die Oase “The Oasis” which told of German frontline life during the North Africa Campaign, he drew many portraits during his time in Africa including one of Erwin Rommel.

A fine and scarce example of a landespolizei visor cap (Schirmmütze). The cap is a private purchase piece, being of a dark blue doeskin crown with green piping to the welt and a same coloured green wool felt cap band with dark blue edging below. The front of the cap is mounted with a first pattern tombac based, silver gilt eagle, made from two separate parts.

This WW2 German NSFK Kepi is made of a blue/grey wool fabric body and stiffened peak, with golden yellow piping. To the front of the cap is the correct aluminium upturned winged eagle with a button below. The black leather chinstrap is held in place by two plain black buttons.
