A rare 3rd militia battalion, kings own Yorkshire light infantry helmet plate. A white metal Victoria crowned star mounted with a laurel wreath and the order of the garter, with a lush dark green velvet centre bearing a French horn and central rose. The base of the wreath is mounted with a scroll bearing the name (The Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry).
A really nice kings royal rifle corps officers helmet plate, a blackened die-stamped example with silver highlights. A Victorian crowned Maltese cross with lions between the arms, below the crown is a scroll inscribed “Peninsula”. On the cross is a circlet which is inscribed “The Kings Royal Rifle Corps” with a strung voided bugle to the centre.
A fine and scarce gilt example of a Lincolnshire regiment helmet plate. A universal crowned star pattern, mounted with a laurel wreath and garter. The centre is with a silvered Sphinx resting on a blank tablet which is set on a lush black velvet ground. To the base of the wreath is an applied scroll, inscribed with the regiments name
A Very Rare Officer’s Shoulder Belt Plate of copper gilt ornamentally edged brass rectangular design. To the centre is a Maid of Erin Harp, surmounted by a George III crown. Above the crown, in period script “IN PECTORE PATRIA” (In The Breast Of My Homeland). Below the Maid of Erin, in period script “LISBURN VOLUNTEERS”.
A fine 1878 pattern Liverpool regiment officers helmet plate. A gilt Victoria crowned eight pointed star with a laurel wreath and garter, the latter carrying the order of the garter motto. To the centre is the white horse of Hanover surmounted with scroll with the regimental motto ‘Nec Aspera Terrent’
A standard London rifle brigade shako plate, being of a die pressed blackened brass eight pointed star with the top most point being displaced by a Victoria crown. The star is surmounted by an oak leaf wreath with a crossed sword and sceptre. To the centre is a royal arms shield within a strap
A very fine and extremely rare example of a Monaghan militia regiment officers shako plate. A Victoria crowned silvered back plate, surmounted by a Maid of Erin Harp with a scroll below baring “Monaghan Regiment”. Two fixing loops to the reverse.
A very, very fine example of a Northamptonshire & Rutland militia shako plate. A silvered, crowned, rayed star mounted by a clasped garter and to the centre is a domed cross of St. George in red enamel. Above the garter is a foliated gilt scroll, bearing ‘Northamptonshire’.
A scarce other ranks Orkney artillery volunteers helmet plate. A white metal plate of a Victoria crowned royal coat of arms, with a scroll below a resting cannon which is inscribed with the regiments name ‘Orkney Artillery Volunteers’. A very nice example of an Orkney Artillery Volunteers helmet plate. With the three standard fixing loops to the reverse.
Superb Solid Silver Example by Thomas Berry and Hallmarked Edinburgh 1937. A very fine, high relief thistle wreath. To the centre is a resting Sphinx on a tablet inscribed “Egypt” and above and below this are scrolls carrying the battle honours of “Peninsula” & “Waterloo”.
