A very fine and rare 39th Dorsetshire regiment of foot, Victorian officer’s shoulder belt plate. A rectangular seeded back plate with burnished edges, mounted with a silver rayed star bearing a gilt pierced clasped strap with ’39th or Dorsetshire’ on a lush blue enamel back ground. To the centre, on a light green enamel ground is a gilt Gibraltar Castle and Key.
A very fine and rare short lived example. Comprising of a gilt rectangular plate mounted with a silver William the fourth crown, below this is a strap inscribed with the regimental motto “Veteri Frondescit Honore” “Its Ancient Honour Flourishes”. To the centre is a silver dragon over a number ‘3’. Surmounted over the crown is a scroll bearing the battle honour “Peninsula”.
A fine and rare example of the 1861 pattern, 3rd Lancashire militia shako plate. A silvered Victoria crowned eight pointed star back plate with a gilt circlet inscribed “3rd Regt Duke of Lancaster’s Own”. A gilt VR cypher to the domed centre. This really is a beautiful example

A fine and scarce example of a 47th Lancashire regiment of foot shoulder belt plate. A gilt, rectangular back plate mounted with a fine facetted silver star bearing a laurel wreath topped by a royal crest of Victoria crown and lion. To the central clasped strap, which bears Lancashire is ‘XLVII’.
A fine and scarce 49th Princess Charlotte of Wales’s regiment of foot, Victorian officer’s shoulder belt plate, being of a seeded gilt rectangular back plate with raised burnished edges mounted by a laurel wreath. A circlet inscribed ‘Princess Charlotte of Wales,’ this surmounted by a Victoria crown. To the centre are the numerals ’49’ resting on a union spray.
A very fine, rare and important 49th Princess Charlotte of Wales’s shoulder belt plate. A rectangular back plate mounted with silver crowned clasped strap inscribed ‘Princess Charlotte of Wales’s Regt.’ To the centre is a ’49’ over Union spray, surmounted by a King George crown.
An extremely fine, rich gilt example. A large rectangular back plate with gilt Victoria crowned strap, immersed in heavy silver laurel sprays, the strap bearing “The King’s Own Regiment”. The crown with rich red velvet inlays. To the domed centre is a gilt Lion over a silver “IV”. Below the laurel is a multi-part scroll inscribed with nine battle honours.
A very fine and exceedingly rare example of a 4th Royal South Middlesex Militia Shako Plate. A Victoria crowned back plate mounted by a silver pierced circlet, inscribed “IV Royal South Middlesex Militia”. The domed centre is carrying the VR Cypher.
A good scarce example. Comprising of seeded fire gilt rectangular plate and burnished edges, mounted with a facetted silver star bearing a gilt strap surmounted by a Victoria crown. The strap bearing ‘Queen’s Own’ and this over a gilt sitting sphinx on an ‘Egypt’ tablet. To the domed centre of the plate is a silvered ’50’.
